OMG, today marks my 100th Blog Post since the switch to the new site last year. I am sooo excited to be sharing so much content online. A huge shout out to all of the folks that continue to follow and support me on my journey.
I couldn’t be more thankful to be doing what I love!
I waited until the final day the Shoot + Share contest was accepting submissions. I wasn’t sure I had the time to actually go through and curate and submit- but I did it. I submitted the maximum number of images (FIFTY!) and I’m proud to say that I am “ALL IN!”
Last year was a phenomenal year. I had a few photos that made it to the finals and some that were among the 30, 20, and 10%.
Max the fox dog won 6th place in the Personal category. He was also featured for the same wintry photo set on The Daily Dog Tag.
I’m pretty pumped to see where this years’ contest takes us.
Today marks my 30th blog post. I’m pretty excited about this because I have been on a mission to expand my writing and posting since starting the new website. In the last 30 work days (M-F) I have been writing and posting photos consistently. I joked with Andy a few days ago about the old website, and how the old blog was lucky if it saw 30 posts a year.
Last night we had some friends over for dinner and games. After they left, Andy and I stayed up cleaning. It was late, and I knew I had a pile of editing to complete today. But I smiled because I love what I do. I wake up feeling energized and excited about photography, creating, editing, and blogging. I’m excited to write emails and post photos and sneak peeks.
My couples bring me so much joy.
And I love what I do.
Here’s to 3,000 more blog posts!
I have been completely smitten with all of the couples that come my way or find me and tell me that they have been together for YEARS. I’m talking about couples that have made it through high school or college together, and I just can’t get enough of it. What makes love like that last the test of time? For Andy and I, I think it has been
The willingness to grow together.
We quite literally grew up together. High School. College. Creating a business that we love. Medical School. As our circumstances change, so do we. Together.
Which brings me to a little giveaway for any couple (married or not) who has advice to share on what it takes to keep the spark alive.
How to Enter:
1. Post a photo of the couple being nominated (you may nominate yourself!) on Facebook and/or instagram
2. Hashtag #micheleashleycouples
3. Give some sort of advice or tidbit on why the relationship works.
After many intense hours and long days, the new website is officially here! I am so incredibly excited to share it. I am even more excited to get back to blogging!
I had to learn so many new things to get this site up and running.
Between reading the manuals from The Tonic Site Shop, Showit, and ProPhoto, and lots of whining to my husband Andy when things weren’t going right (who was patient with me and showed me things along the way), to large cups of coffee and twelve hour days, I’m leaping for joy over how this beast-turned-baby came out!
Take a look around for yourself, and then come back here and show me some love in the comment section below.
