I have been obsessed with photographs for as long as I can remember. Sitting on my grandparents living room floor, sifting through shoeboxes of old photographs when I was a youngster was one of my favorite things to do. What I didn’t realize then, was how important those photos would become to our family. To take a photograph is to say that a moment mattered enough to save it. To create and preserve a legacy. To share a smile, an important moment, or to even take a modern day selfie is proof that you existed. That the people you care about existed.
And those photos are part of who you are and how you will be remembered.
Photography is an extension of who I am as a person. I take photos so that couples, families, and loved ones can enjoy them, and so that maybe, just maybe one day, a grandchild or two will sit on the floor of your living room going through them, and you can retell the beautiful stories of your life.
