What women are asking when they inquire

Boudoir Photography – Frequently Asked Questions

The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to clients about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!

Do you share my images?

My number one priority is making absolutely certain that my clients are comfortable. Boudoir can be a life changing experience, but I also know that not everyone is ready or willing to share their experience with the world, and you don’t have to! I have woman of all backgrounds, ages and sizes, and sometimes they are doing this for themselves, other times for their significant other. Sometimes my clients prefer to keep their images private because of their profession- sometimes they just want them to be seen by their significant other. Whatever you decide is your choice and I will honor that completely!

Do I have to wear lingerie?

You definitely do not have to wear lingerie. I have clients who wear lingerie, some bring in tank tops, t-shirts, button downs, jerseys, jeans, leather jackets… get creative! Most of my clients do wear some sort of lingerie, but whatever you feel good in is fine with me!

Do you have payment plans?

We offer a few payment options! There is a session fee to book your shoot. Products (albums, digitals etc) are a separate investment. You can pay in full for your products at your image reveal, or you can pre-pay for your products in installments before your session. If you want more time to be able to pay off the products, you can schedule your session a few months out, and pre-pay it off before your session (you also get bonuses when you do this!)! Let me know if this is something that you want to set up!

Is hair and makeup included?

Hair and makeup is included in all of our boudoir shoots! I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! One of our amazing hair and makeup artists will help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or Full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and she can try to use it for inspiration!

Do you Photoshop my images?

I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I do NOT however edit anything “out” that is permanent! I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done, and then edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are! Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself that are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is okay! I am skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best!

Where should I buy outfits?

There are a many places to buy outfits from and it depends on what your vision is for your session. Here is a list to choose from with different style and sizing! Victoria’s Secret, Forever21, Torrid, Shein, Amazon… If you are looking for something specific that you can’t find, let me know and I might know where to get it!

What type of print products do you have?

I offer a variety of albums and luxury boxes with prints in them! The velvet dream box with the 100-5×7 prints are my favorite. I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical print, it’s so surreal to see yourself like that!

Do you offer digitals?

Some of my collections include some sort of print product and digital collection, but there is also an A La Carte list that you can choose from if you’re looking to just get digitals!

I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?

Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you WEREN’T nervous. Everyone comes in feeling the exact same way as you. Nervous AF. Not to worry, I got you! Remember, I’m going to show you what to do so you can put your mind at ease about posing. I’ll show you images as we shoot too, which will make calm your nerves.

How many outfits should I bring?

I really don’t put a limit on how many you should bring. I typically shoot 3-5 outfits and have done as little as one outfit (we just fell in love with the way it looked in photos!) There is also the option to bring absolutely no outfits and use my client closet if you prefer!

Should I get to my shoot early?

No. I ask that you arrive at your scheduled time. Sometimes I shoot two sessions a day or book meetings and in-studio reveal appointments, so to keep you from waiting, I ask that you arrive right on time.

Where is your studio located?

The studio is located in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts across from MCPHS and next to the police station. The address is 51 Union Street, Suite 210, Worcester, MA. Parking is free!
