There are so many reasons in my heart why I think it is important to document the prep time on your wedding day. When we first started our photography business, Andy and I called this part of the day “Anticipation” on our website because there is so much joy and thoughtful moments while getting ready and leading up to the ceremony. Here are 5 of my top reasons you should definitely have the wedding prep documented.

When is the last time you, your family and your friends have had professional photos taken? Chances are, not recently. Having your photographer there during the prep time allows everyone to get comfortable with the photographer and being in front of the camera.

There are so many emotional moments happening as you get ready. There are moments you may share with the people that have been caring for you all your life, and your photographer will be there to capture those moments for you to cherish.

Having coverage at the beginning of the day allows your photographer to move around the room and collect and stylize the details. You put so much time and energy into selecting pieces for your wedding. This is the time to have them photographed.
