About 14 years ago, Andy and I picked up a couple of Canon SLR film cameras and enrolled in a film photography course at our local community college. We learned how to develop our own film and create our own prints in the darkroom. The smell of developer, fixer, and toner was intoxicating and we found ourselves enjoying the process and hanging out in the dim lit room.
One of my all-time favorite photos is one from a series taken of a horse. As a girl (and even now), I’ve been infatuated by these large gentle creatures and their
amazing strength and beauty.
A year ago, I met Emily while photographing her sisters wedding. I learned later that she had Elliot, a beautiful chocolate colored baby and I just had to photograph them. I’ve since lost that photo I loved so much, but have replaced it with these beautiful photos of Emily and Elliot.
So here is the first set in a series I’m calling my passion projects.
Thanks again to the lovely Emily and her wonderful horse companion, Elliot. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them.

It sounds cliche, but 10 years from now, you'll look back at photos of you from now and tell yourself how beautiful you were. How wonderful would it be to see yourself and appreciate yourself as you are TODAY, right now?
