WELCOME TO

The Canvas

Our dark blue bedroom, complete with white built-ins and trim, has had a large empty space above our headboard for as long as we’ve lived here. Andy wanted to decorate the room in black and white images.

Like everyone else, we get busy and don’t always take the time to print our photos.

After our anniversary session, we decided to get a large canvas printed of one of our favorite images to fill the space. It’s clearly a picture of us, but also a gorgeous piece of art that now adorns our bedroom.

The best part? We hung it with 3M Command Velcro strips. Instead of drilling and hammering into our 141 year old house (yes, it’s from 1875!) we decided to start hanging things up using velcro. And it totally works!

  3. Katie says:

Ahh I need to get one of these! So pretty 🙂

  4. Jennifer says:

I live in an old house as well (1902) with plaster walls, so I’ve also become quite familiar with command strips! The velcro is great! I also love that canvas 🙂

  5. What a beautiful & impactful image! I’m so glad you chose a black and white for that wall. It really makes the space.

  6. Valerie says:

Beautiful, and command strips are the answer to the world’s problems!

  7. I love this picture of you guys. Don’t you love the 3M strips. You definitely have to be careful of the type of paint. Our walls are matte so they don’t stick as well.
